Alexandre Ramos ‘Concorde’

Solo show by Alexandre Ramos from 8 to 23 December.

At the time when photographer Alexandre Ramos was about to stop being a regular presence at Atelier Concorde, this exhibition was a fairwell gesture exploring the author’s relationship with diverse spaces in the studio and its artists. The photographer’s gaze advances and retracts, intermittently, inviting us to notice the singularities of Concorde’s private and public spaces, where we sense the chaos and silence inherent to work in progress and imagine the artists’ days. In this sense, ‘Concorde’ is also a reflection on the moment when artist and work are individually constructed.

Alexandre Ramos was born in Lisbon in 1979, where he lives and works. Graduated with a Photography BA from Lusófona University in 2013 and since then has been assisting photographer Daniel Malhão. In his practice Alexandre Ramos investigates the relationship between object and space. In 2014 with psychologist Joana Fernandes founded Espaço Simbólico, where he uses analog photography and alternative processes as a tool for creative activities fostering human and mental development.
